GNESA’s Pediatric/Adolescent SANE/SAFE Didactic Training Program
Didactic Program Overview
This program is designed for nurses or other medical personnel who are interested in providing forensic-medical assessments and care to pediatric/adolescent victims of sexual assault. The 40 hour didactic portion is conducted over a 5 (8 hr) day period and attendance for the entire training is required to receive continuing education credit hours. This course is designed to provide registered nurses and other medical personnel with a comprehensive education program consisting of:
Assessment
Examination
Collection of forensic evidence
Evaluation of pediatric sexual assault patients
Requirements for attendance:

Current Georgia RN license (or other licensure as apporpriate)
Copy of a current, clear background check (to be obtained by and at the expense of participant, within 60 days, can be obtained at local law enforcement agency)
Proof of Adult/Adolescent SANE/SAFE completion (didactic and clinicals) if already completed
(Completion of Adult/Adolescent SANE/SAFE training is not a prerequisite for Pediatric training, however, specific clinical requirements will vary based on previous training and experience.)

This activity has been submitted to the Georgia Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. The Georgia Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission of Accrediation.
**Deposit of $200 for GA residents and $300 for out of state residents is required at the time of registration. Upon completion of all didactic and clinical portions of the training, the deposit (minus any applicable fees) will be refunded to GA residents only.** Deposit scholarships may be available upon request for those that would otherwise not be able to attend the training. Please contact GNESA for details. Scholarships are not gauranteed. Deposit may be paid via GNESA's PayPal account (credit card - no PayPal account required for registrants) or money order. GNESA is not accepting personal checks at this time. Business checks will be accepted with prior approval.
