1-Day Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Training -

Location: Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC)

This one day workshop will provide an understanding of the Prison Rape Elimination Act and the requirements of facilities under this Act.  Participants will also learn practical skills and useful strategies to help them provide services to incarcerated survivors.  Presenters will discuss addressing issues including initial contact with corrections facilities, establishing MOUs, negotiating confidentiality, and useful crisis intervention techniques for incarcerated survivors.  

Who should attend:  Sexual Assault Center staff, PREA Coordinators, any staff that are working in a confinement facility who would like to increase their knowledge regarding PREA and supporting survivors who are incarcerated.
